After retiring from the Air Force and moving out of state, I paid the "final bill" via telephone. Fortunately for me, I asked them to mail me a receipt, which they did. I've got at least 3 collection attempts from "Credit Collection Association, L.P." I called the number on the letter, but it's only an automated recording that allows you to make a payment or dispute the debt.
I've disputed the debt twice now and each time I get the " We have recieved notice from Comcast Cable verifying that the debt as true and valid" Their inability to properly update payments on accounts and the fact that they have gone as far as reporting this to a credit reporting agency will undoubtedly lead to legal action. If anyone from Comcast reads this, "Free cable for life" isn't going to be enough!
