Comcast did not pay the $150.00 to DIRECTV to buy out my contract

May 13 I cancelled my account with DIRECTV early and returned to Comcast for my television and internet connection. Even though I'm supposed to have Comcast's high-speed cable connection, it's slower than DSL ever thought of being. Anyway, after months of haggling with DIRECTV, I finally received an itemized statement from them showing the amount owed for Comcast to buy out my contract with DIRECTV. All Comcast was going to pay of the bill was $150.00. Fine.

I found out last Friday, February 6, that Comcast did in fact issue the $150.00, only they issued it as a credit to my account with them, instead of sending it to DIRECTV. I've been trying for 24 hours to get the 800# to Comcast's Billing Department to hash it out with them.

I did contact DIRECTV and have been informed that Comcast never did try to send them any money. And as much as I dislike DIRECTV and their own business practices, I'm inclined to believe them.

Fortunately the collection agency DIRECTV turned me into (they don't have a good reputation either), has been patient. I can hardly wait to give them this latest update.

All I want is for Comcast to pay DIRECTV or the collection agency, one or the other, the $150.00 and then I'll work out a payment plan with the collection agency.

As soon as my contract is over with Comcast, on May 13, they will be in my rear-view mirror.
