Continues to rip off customers by stealing from our bank accounts

I had aol for one year now and didn't find out the problem till november.

I was happy to have aol because it was easy to use (incase you are computer illiterate like me) but all that contentment turned to sheer anger and distrust when i found out exactly how sneeky and unfair aol can be.

My husband was checking on bills and stuff that went through on our bank account when he noticed aol had took $72.50 out, when they should have only automatically withdrawn $23.50 (a monthly, unlimited use, service charge.

Well since i am the only person authorized in our home to access aol because the account is in my name, i called aol immediately.

To my horror a series of absoulutely shocking things took place. First of all the initial customer service rep. That i spoke with was very polite and helpful (cannot say that about the rest of the underacheivers)

She aided as best she could in trying to provide me with the necessary info that i needed regarding this matter. I asked her how long has aol been withdrawing x amounts of money from my bank account?

I was highly angered to find that for the past 4 months they took out in excess of $500.00. She said the reason why was because i called in to customer service in july and requested service be terminated (the hell i did)!!!

And that after i was offered 30 days free i decided i would stay online with aol but switch to an hourly charge of $4.95 per hour.

I told her now why would i do that if i am always online. That didn't make a bit of sense when i could get charged for unlimited use of $23.50?

It was purely their mistake at my expense. She corrected the problem with the billing so there would be no future mistakes but wait a minute what about my $500.00 that was in aol's bank account now?

I told her to send me a check with the amount that was due me. She said ok.

I told her that if my money was good when they took it out of my bank account then they better send me a check that is just as good too!

What i found odd was right before we hung up on the phone she gave me a little info.

She stated that if i had any further problems to email a [email protected]

He is supposedly a bigshot ceo at aol. (he proved to be totally unhelpful also) after a few hours of numerous calls to aol and being directed and misdirected to various departments that had absoulutely nothing to do with my problem

I was finally connected to their fraud department which supposedly investigates errors and has the power to reimberse the money that had been taken. (what a joke!) after being treated very rudely, told it was my fault, i was mocked by the customer service rep., bold face hung up on,

And when i called back and told them i didn't like being hung up on they laughed at me! Can you believe that! So i asked for a supervisor and was givin a reply of "no our supervisor doesn't want to talk to you"!

He insisted that they have concluded "i would only be rembursed for up to 60 days according to thier "tos" agreement and that after thier investigation on this matter it was basically my fault because that is what i agreed too according to the "tos". So i was so shocked to find that aol is a rip off all the way around from the "tos" to the way they decided to reimburse me,

They put the money that was due me on a buy down which means my money they stole is not worth it's value any longer but infact was worth less and that money would be put toward future aol monthly service fees.

Can you believe that one??? Geezzzoo! Even the bank tried to help but found there was nothing they could do either but cancel that card they have been billing too.

Information i found out recently is that anyone that has aol is subject to the same unless you call your bank and place a restriction againt aol for only the monthly service charge and no more!!! Their "tos" states you the consumer is at fault for all errors or unauthorized bank transactions!

Please i urge you all, buyer beware! Aol is a rip off and continues steel money from unsuspecting victims! Read your "tos" agreement thoroughly and if are going to stop aol's subscription cancell the card that they bill to and get a new one they will keep taking from you!

So now i have aol prepaid for a couple months (woop de doo! The rat bastards!)... Keyword tos... Jipped in cali
