Lens Crafters
Discrimination - Customer Service - 50%

I took my daughte and I to get an eye exam and glasses at the Lens Crafters in the Aurora Mall - Town Center Mall - in Aurora Colorado, on 11/19. The eye doctor and his receptionist, and eye technician, seemed nice enough. The service seemed thorough and friendly enough. However. When I went to pick out glasses for both me and my daughter, that is when things broke down. I actually waited my turn at one of their booths, in the store for over half an hour, with no sales person even acknowledging me. We actually sat in the booth, next to a woman who worked there, when she finished with the customer she was waiting on, instead of coming to me, because I was next, she went out of her way, ignoring me and my daughter; and started to assist new customers, who had just entered the store. I sat patiently, however, then finally, had to call out to her, that we had been waiting for a very long time, by now, a good 45 minutes, and would someone please assist me and my daughter. She then proceed to inquire of me, personal information, out loud, from across the room, so that others could clearly hear my personal information. Findly, after almost an hour waiting, for assistance, a nice enough sales person named Tony, sought to help us. Now it really gets weird, during the course of assisting me and my daughter, other people came in. They might have waited all of ten or fifteen minutes at best. The sale person waiting on us, kept calling out to them, "sorry for the wait", really? My daughter and I had been waiting for an hour, not one apology, came our way. They when, were waited on, by another sales person, Tony, offers the couple, 40% off. The signs in the store clearly sited, 50% off frames and lenses, so this was a 40% off, in addition to what was already offered. When I spoke up, and said, we had been waiting a long time also, Tony did not dispute the fact, but declined to make me the same offer, saying that my insurance company already covered the prices. I am African American, the other group was White. I seriously, believe I was discriminated against, all the while, the service was being subjected unfairly. If someone who had just come in the store, was offered 40% off for having to wait a few minutes, how much more, shouldn't I have been offered the same deal, having had to wait for an hour total f0r service, and then so, having been subject to being passed over, for service, as newer customers just entered the store?
The glasses and frames, were clearly marked off from, 20% to 50%, throughout the store. My request for the same discount, along with any on the spot discount, was denied, even when I requested, to be treated fairly. Discrimination doesn't have to be name calling, it is also, treating one person or group differently than another, without reason or purpose, other than, to treat someone with less courtesy and respect, specially, when it comes to savings and dollars spent. The discounts and the 40% I requested after Tony clearly offered it to another customer, for having waited clearly only a fraction of the time I was subjected to having to wait, appears to be poor and inconsistent service at best, or discrimination.
