I have been using Caremark for years now, every year we keep using them because the plan promises to save us money over our local pharmacy for maintenance drugs... But this year we are not using them anymore and I will tell you why... My children have alway taken a particular vitamin with fluoride... It costs $12.00 per 90 day refill... Recently another doct in my pediatricians office wrote me a script for their vitamins... They are a different brand (which I did not notice when I was sending the script to CVS)
I get a bill for my coinsurance in the amount of $94.56 from them.
I called to see if there was some mistake, but no, this is waht they charge for the vitamins... I told them that I want a refund for the vitamins and that I would have my doc send a new script... Customer service guy tells me that I am responsible for the payment because they filled the script correctly... So I am stuck with my $94.56 vitamins? My local pharmacy would have at least called me to ask if this was some sort of mistake... And would I really want the $94.56 vitamins or should they call my doc to get the script he has always writen? No, they don't do that... Well after some back and forth, they agreed to take the vitamins back, but only this one time and never again..
It will never happen again because I am swithching to my local pharmacy as of the end of this month during my open enrollment period. I order tons of prescriptions because one of my children has Type 1 diabetes... And I really need to have good customer service... This pharmacy is run by robots who only know how to follow the policies and they don't think of who is on the other end of the receiving line...
I have already resolved this situation... But I just want other customers to know that you don't need to put up with this kind of service or lack thereof...
Some other pharmacy will be happy to take my money&my local pharmacy—who actually know my family... And it not CVS... Either... They are a factory too...
