The pharmacists don't even bother to read the allergy information they have on file. I have on file with Publix that I am allergic to blue dyes, among other things. When I took a new prescription in today, they dispensed blue pills. I was livid when I got home and saw this, so I went back hoping they would at least ORDER some that were not blue. However, all I received were excuses. They claimed that the allergy information doesn't show, which I don't believe because there would be no reason to have it if it didn't show when a prescription is being entered. Then they said all they have and all they can get from their supplier are the same blue pills. They said they can not order ones that are not blue. This is the ONLY pharmacy I've run into that has said they could not order pills that were not blue. When I challenged them on that statement, they came back with "well, do you know what manufacturer has white pills?" That's when I really lost what little patience I had with them and told them to just give me my money and prescription back and I'd take my business elsewhere. How am I supposed to know what manufacturers make white ones? I don't have a computer hooked up to a pharmaceutical network like they do, where I could look that up. I could have looked it up when I got home on rxlist.com or someplace, I suppose, but why should I have to do that when they advertise that they have such great customer service? I complained to one of the store managers, who spoke with the pharmacist, and then came back with the same line of "that's all they can get from their supplier." Well, they have lost my business for prescriptions. Why? Not just because of their attitude, but also because of their carelessness in the first place. For all they know, blue dyes could cause an anaphylactic reaction! But they don't care, they just fill it without bothering to check the allergies on file, and hope that nobody notices, I guess. I get white pills of this medication all the time at another pharmacy, so it just astounds me that Publix can't or won't get the white ones.
