LA Fitness Westwood RIP-OFF, Bait & Switch, SCAM

I became a member of LA Fitness last week. I was interested in getting a personal trainer for a couple of sessions to get acclimated to the new facility and help me get started on a fitness program that will help me achieve the results I want. When I signed up for the gym membership, I was given a complimentary personal assessment where I could meet with a personal trainer who would evaluate my current fitness and advise me on a program that could benefit me.
I show up for the scheduled appointment, go through a quick warm up with a trainer, and then go to sit with him and talk about what I want. Suddenly another staff member shows up, sits down next to me, stares at me, asks my name and completely hijacks the appointment. He proceeds to ask my age, make presumptive statements such as, "You're at the wedding age." "You probably have to make 3 trips from the car to the house with groceries, we want to get you down to one." "Right now you're a 5/6 out of 10, we want to get you to a 10." "You said yourself you wanted to get back to the gym and now you're questioning the program?" "This deal for the personal training package will only last today, the price will go up tomorrow." He offered another discount if I signed up then. As much as I knew I hated the guy and how uncomfortable he made me, he kept lowering the price for the package, so I said ok. Then he had me initial a digital screen and sign my name. He never gave me a contract to read. He then assigned me a personal trainer. He didn't ask my fitness goals, he didn't ask what kind of trainer I wanted.
The next day, I realize what a horrible experience it was, call to complain and get a refund. This is after I check my bank account and find he charged me the full price instead of the price he quoted me. WHen I call to complain that the personal training session was an hour instead of a full hour and how rude the guy was, the supervisor backed the guy up and repeated what the other guy said the day before, "Why do you need an hour? Most people who do a full hour are elderly people. We don't want to babysit you." I go in person after calling a bunch of times with my calls unreturned, they talk me down, don't give me a refund, tell me I can pick my own trainer and give me a new one. They print out the contract for me to read which I've already signed. I read the contract. The price they charged me turned out to be an INITIAL FEE and that I was signed up for automatic payments every two weeks for a year - totaling $3,000. Never. Not ever, did they mention this to me. I am furious. I plan to cancel it tomorrow with my written notice which will hopefully reach them within the 5 day period. I have been a member to many gyms and have had previous personal training experience. I have never been taken advantage of like this and treated like such shit at a gym before. This was a new and very unpleasant experience.
Avoid these people.Pro Results is a gigantic scam.
