For one of the dominant names in the eyeglass industry, LensCrafters seems to offer pretty poor service at a rather high price. When I bought my last eyeglasses from them, they got the optics wrong the first time — the girl who measured me did a sloppy job, and the frames they sold me were bent. They also took a very long time to have the glasses ready — more than two weeks. Recently when I went in to buy a new pair with a new prescription, they wasted a half an hour of my time taking measurements and showing me lenses and frames, only to tell me then that they couldn't fill my prescription (I have mild astigmatism) with rimless glasses — despite the fact that they had done so twice in the decade previous. So I went down the street to a Cohen's Fashion Optical, where the very nice girls behind the counter said, "Astigmatism and rimless glasses? No problem!" And Cohen's had my glasses ready in a week, as promised. They also offered the same AARP 30% discount as LensCrafters. So LC may have the latest technology in their stores, but they fail in good old-fashioned customer service. Phooey!
