My husband and I signed a 10 yr contract with Heart Check in Los Angeles in March and learned that all of the offices nationwide have closed when we went to try and use them the next year. Thru internet queries we learned that the Attorney General filed charges against the mother and son owners and that there is a class action lawsuit which has been filed in Las Vegas, NV and Colorado for people who purchased contracts there. So far, none in California.
We paid a $199 service fee when we signed up, as well as $2000 for the contract. We were each to receive bi-yearly body scans for the next 10 years - as well as a colon scan.
The following March, we paid the next $199 service fee (which was automatically charged to our credit card by Conrad Acceptance Corp -a payment processing company). When we called to make appointments to actually have our body scanss done - we found Heart Check's web site had been taken down, and the phone number was no good. Thru a Google
search we found a site (Health Screening Plus) which claimed they'd taken over Heart Check, and Heart Check customers should sign in there, and that they would be contacting us for further. Unfortunately, that web site consists of just a home page with no further details. My husband and I registered our email address there, but have yet to receive a call or email
from that company in the 6 weeks that have followed. We tried calling the phone number for that company as well, but it goes to an answering machine which states that the mail box is full.
We feel quite scammed.
