My family spent several months fundraising to pay for a service dog for my child with autism. The first dog that we brought home was not housebroken & could not follow any commands. Trainer took the dog back & later told me that it had medical problems. Trained another dog for us (only 3 months of training for this one.), beautiful, intelligent dog, but still not completely trained. We had issues with the trainer throughout all of this time and dealing with her was quite difficult. Trainer was often vague and sometimes hostile when questioned about the training methods. We love our dog, but it falls woefully short of our expectations of a service animal. Guess we will have to finish the training ourselves or settle on a "glorified pet". What a shame.
