On December 29, I ordered the aids for my brother and paid $699. I also ordered the dryer and accessories which was $124.95 plus $7.00 for shipping. When they arrived, he could not use them due to unusual ear canals. They suggested the OTE (over the ear) model and we decided to try those. The OTE's are priced at $799. The company also agreed to take back the dryer and accessory kit since I explained that nothing had been opened and taken out of the boxes.$699 124.95 7.00 = $830.95.
It states on the website that there is a 10% restocking fee. I think that is a bit high, but was fully aware of it before ordering. It also states it can take up to 45 days to get a refund. They gave me a return authorization number and I sent the first ones back with a note to exchange for the OTE's. We did not receive them when we thought we should, so I contacted them by email and ask them what the holdup was. They emailed back and said they had been shipped and we should receive them in the next few days. I feel sure they had neglected to send the OTE's until they received my reminder email.
The OTE's arrived on January 26. He tried to use them, but said he could barley hear and it sounded like a small transistor radio. I again emailed the company and told them he was not satisfied with them and asked for a return authorization number. They sent the number by email, we took to the PO and sent them back on February 4.
For the first set, I received a refund of $13.45 and exchanged for the higher priced OTE's ($799). I received a refund of $629.10 for the return of the second set. 10% of $799 is $79.90, I should have received a $719.10 refund, but they kept $169.90 shorting my refund by $90. I emailed them about this, but they did not credit the $90 back to my card by the date I had given them, April 10. I definitely should not have to wait another 45 days for the $90.
