I joined LA Fitness about a year ago and attempted to cancel this year in July. It is September now and i still am trying to cancel my membership.
First off i was told that i had to fill out a form and send it in to corporate HQ to cancel, which is absolutely ridiculous when you consider the fact that literally every other gym out there only requires a hand written letter to be handed in stating why you want to cancel, and your bar code or account number on it.
So i get a form in which every box that i am suppose to put my personal information into is nearly completely black. Why would every box be black? So they can claim they could not see or read what you wrote down in the box
therefore delaying the cancellation process.
I proceeded to freeze my account in the mean time and i then called LA Fitness Head Quarters in Texas to try and deal with them and find out why i cannot cancel immediately. I called and talked to a young man who said he would process my request to cancel my membership. A month later i checked my credit card statement and saw that once again i was billed from LA Fitness. I furiously went to the Website to look up my account details and there i saw that my account was not froze and it was due to be billed again at full price in a few days.
Still to this day i have not been able to cancel my membership from LA Fitness. LA Fitness is the epidemy of corrupt corporate businesses, they lie, steal and cheat their customers to get every bit of money they possible can from them. Something needs to be done about them and their corrupt business practices. This is so unfair that they are able to get away with this kind of filth, and dishonesty, LA Fitness needs to be Sued and shutdown for good and made an example of just like Enron.
