Rip Off! 10 days to cancel but no one to answer phone! Charged my bank account $99.41 for product not received!

I responded to an offer to try Pure Health Green Tea and Hoodia for $4.97 for a one week trial. The advertisement said to cancel within 10 days of order via phone or certified letter. And that if I didn't cancel within the 10 days I would be charged $99.41.

This offer was made through the NetSleuth website. I found it while doing some research.interesting to note, the offer does not appear to be on their website anymore.

I placed the order on Thursday afternoon, July 19 and received the one week supply on Tuesday afternoon, July 24. I also noticed that there was no receipt for the purchase in the plain manilla envelope it was mailed in. Definately should have been a heads up for me!

After trying the product for 3 days I decided it wasn't worth the money and tried to cancel on Friday, July 27 only to realize it was past their business hours for Friday.

The recording said to please call back during regular business hours. Monday thru Friday, 8am - 4pm CMT and Friday 8am to noon CMT. I called first thing on Monday morning, July 30 and cancelled, was given the woman's name and a cancellation number.

On Tuesday afternoon I checked my bank account (I had used my debit card, what a fool!) and there was a charge pending for $99.41. I immediately called the company for an explaination and was told that, yes they had received my cancellation and that as of the 30th the account was cancelled.

I was then told by a very rude, un-cooperative woman that it was in their Terms & Conditions that anything in "autoship" is non-returnable and non-refundable. When I tried to explain that I tried calling them within days of receiving the product but that there wasn't even an answering maching to take messages after hours, I was firmly and rudely told "You had your 10 days to cancel."

When I began asking questions concerning the inability to get in touch with a company that gives you 10 days to cancel but is only open 4 1/2 days out of 7, I was again told "You had your 10 days".

I also asked about the "trial period" and asked them how are you supposed to know if you want to continue if it takes 5 days to receive your product? At which time she again told me "You had your 10 days" and then hung up on me.

My personal bank has offered to help fight the charges, they had to allow them to go through first and now I must fill out and sign paperwork to try and get my money returned.

As of today, August 4 I have not received the product for which my account was debited $99.41

I will be reporting this to my State Attorney General's Office and the BBB here in the Channelview/Houston area.

What a major rip off these people are. I only wish I had found this company by surfing the web because then I would have seen the complaint site and would never have given them a second thought.
