July 8 went for dental exam and to have loose bridge recemented. Dentist Shah told me that I must have crown on tooth number 2 due to large filling already there. Problems getting proper impression (after five tries had to come back).
Improper fit of crown caused edges to chip. Went to owner of Pro Dental (Dr. Rick Brar) on September 1. Dr. Brar charged for another exam and touched up chipped edges of crown.
Severe toothache caused me to return to Dr. Brar September 22 and was told I need to have crown removed, plus root canal and new crown to subject tooth. Also told I wouldn't have to pay for second crown. Dr. Brar said poor fitting first crown put pressure on nerves of tooth causing inflamation and nerve damage thus root canal.
Tooth is okay now however Dr. Brar has billed my insurance company for two exams and two crowns for the same tooth and also billed for the root canal which was due to their poor fitting crown in the first place.
The overall tooth has been compromised due to the amount of tooth and root removed. This is a molar (tooth #2) and may cause problems as I get older.
As I was waiting for treatment on September 22 in Dr. Brar's West Dundee, Illinois office, I overheard him tell 2 other patients that they needed to have fillings replaced with Crowns.
Is this guy into the cosmetic dentistry or an actual dentist which treats teeth? I also feel the charges for poor dental work should be dropped.
