I was a victum. On Oct 11, though a "passport for savings" I thought I would get a free sample from trim life for signing up for a diet product.
The next day on Oct 12 I telephoned 888-829-2430 and cancelled the Trim Life. I was told I'd probably get the free sample anyway since it was already in the system.
The man asked why I wanted to cancel. I told him I didn't need the product or want it at all I made a mistake. He reconfimed to asking "you don't want it at all. You didn't mean to order it?" I confirmed and said told him I do not want it, do not send it to me. Take me off your list. He said no problem that it was cancelled. But again told me I wouild probably receive the free sample.
I Received a free sample a few days later of a celaderm self-tanning cream. A couple weeks later received another free samle. I thought it was simply a mix up by their free sample mailing service.
Around Thanksgiving I got another one. There was no invoice, no bill, no statement in any of the boxes so I still thought they were very slow in getting me off their list and besides I was not feeling well..
Dec 29 I received another one. Again, no bill, no invoice no paperwork of anykind and I still throught it was a mix up of getting these dumb free samples of tanning cream I don't want.
Then I saw an "account number" for me phone on the mailing box. I telephone the company at the number given on the box.
Only then did I discover I'd been billed over
$144.65 to my credit card at the rate of 51.90 per month. I was stunned. "Jason" told me that I signed up automatically if I did not cancell within 14 days. I told him I did cancel everything the next day and didn't even want the sample. AT that time I was told I would probably receive the free sample anyway because it was already in the system.
So when I received these boxes, with no bill, no invoice, no statement of any kind in the mailing box, I, naturally, thought they were mistakenly sent samples. "Jason" told me they never included invoice as a protection to me. I laughed and said no, I think the owners probably do that in order to prolong the time that a person is unaware that they are being billed for something they don't want.
Iwas in crying so hard I could barely speak. I am over 70 and live on social ssecurity only and would never ever sign up for something like this. I told him I'd just returned home from grocery shopping and was elated because I'd saved $12. That it will take me 14 months to pay off $144 at the rate of $10 a month then plus interest.
Jason tole me I could return the boxes and get a credit to my card. I filed a dispute with Visa. It remains to be seen what will happen we I mail back the productt.
I pay my bills automatically and on the one bill in November where I saw a charge of 51.90, it did not bear the name TrimLife but TL Scienes which is similar to the name of a company from which I do purchase supplies.
DO NOT order any ree sample from Truim LIfe.
