I was sent an email by a friend to sign up for a free trial of my choice of product to help them win an ipod. I checked out all the different choices and chose a free trial of Ultraburn PM. I read through all the product information, and all it said was that to get a free 15day trial of product you pay the shipping costs. There was no contract information listed.
I received the free trial product. Then one month later, I received another package from them. After opening it, I saw a 30 day supply of product and immediately called the company to find out why they sent this to me. They said that their computer system was down and that they could not assist me at that time. I tried to call back, but could not get through... As the hold time was continuous.
Just today 4/13/06, I saw another charge, and I contacted them immediately. The representative on the phone said there was a terms and conditions that I had to read before I paid for the shipping cost. I told her that I did not see anywhere that I was signing up for a monthly product to be sent out to me. I let her know that I have not received any additional product, and that I wanted to return everything to get a refund.
She said that the terms and conditions stated that once the product was billed and shipped that they could not give a refund. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and she said that there wasn't one... And that the only course of action that I could take would be to write a letter to the owner's po box: PO BOX 95668 South Jordan, Utah 84096. I asked if there was someone to address the letter to, and she said "owners of ultralife".
I expressed how upset I was at the situation and the level of customer service that that company provided. She then laughed at me... I told her how upset I was that she was laughing at the situation and that I wanted to make sure that I would never be billed again... She then said "bite me" and hung up the phone.
I called back to speak to see if I could ask to speak to a supervisor directly... And the first person that picked up the phone said that they were a supervisor. I explained the situation to her, and she told me the same policy and that she would speak with that individual.
