This company is a complete sham. I must admit that my therapist was excellent, but it seems like the manager and front desk employees, who welcome you with a charming smile, must be trained at being vague and devious.
When I first went there an employee tried to persuade me to sign a one year contract in order to get a discounted price. When I said that I didnt want to commit because I might change my mind, he assured me that I could cancel at any time which turned out to be an outright lie because a few months later when I decided that I no longer wanted to continue, I was told that the contract I had signed was for one year and that it could not be changed. I explained that the front desk employee gave me to understand that I could cancel at any time, to which the once charming employee all of a sudden became impersonal, and coldly replied that it was all there in the contract!
I asked if they would automatically stop charging me after one year and was told that they would continue to charge me, so I called the manager who told me that I needed to send her an email to cancel, which I did. I called again, in October, to make sure that they had indeed cancelled my contract, and I was assured that my last payment would post at the end of that month, and that I could use my last two sessions before the end of the year. I called back in December to schedule my last 2 hour session only to be told that I should have used it by November and that there was nothing they could do.
Whatever you do, do not sign any agreements with Massage Envy. Believe me you do not want the aggravation of dealing with their shady business tactics and deceitful, callous employees.
