Was told I would be able to watch DVR from any room in my house.installer installed one DVR and one basic little black box that will not record, or playback recordings. Called to check and was told they would send out someone again to install correct box. Was told installer would be at my house between 8am and Noon, at 1:45pm I called to check status and was told my appointment was never set for that time period (I have the email as proof of installation time and date) was told instead that I was wrong and it was the same day between 1pm and 4 or 5pm. At 4:45pm the installer called and stated that Directv double booked him and must think he is a clone as they always double book. Long story short, I needed to reschedule yet again. So after taking another full day off of work, I called and was told the installer was a liar and the system they use doesn't allow overbooking. (Add that as yet another lie) Anyways, I decided to just cancel my service all together as I couldn't take any more time off to deal with this nonsense. Well what do you know, I was told I was under a 2 year agreement and it would cost me $480.00 to cancel. Was told I only had 24 hours to cancel if I didn't like the service. Well if the service is still not installed correctly, how do you know if it ever works. So I decided to cancel the FREE HBO, Starz, Showtime and Cinemax before the 90 days was up so I didn't get locked into another multi year agreement on channels I didn't want in the first place. Was told they automatically add those channels to my package to try out and I would have to call and cancel. I explained that I was calling to cancel and was informed that I couldn't cancel right now as the system wouldn't allow it until after 30 days. WHAT? So once again they push you off until after the deadline to lock you into more charges on multi year agreements. I explained to the rep that I couldn't take another entire day off of work to deal with this issue (Would make the third full day off with no pay) and that if needed I would just consult with an attorney. The rep told me that would be great, just retain legal council and that was my right. Then asked if I wanted to schedule installation! So the moral to the story is if t seems to good to be true, it almost always is. So I will take his advice and talk to an attorney ASAP. Also, was setup on direct pay after I told them 5 times I wanted a bill. Was told no problem and then looked online and they set me up anyways. Thankfully I haven't given them any of my debit, bank account, or credit card information because if you do a quick search, thousands of people are claiming they took hundreds out of their account without permission. Do your research and my advice would be to avoid this company like the plague! They also automatically set you up with insurance on your equipment and charge a monthly fee regardless if you want the insurance or not. If anything changes I will update with results, but I wouldn't count on it.
