Complaint My bill had been ranging from $100-$200 per month and now it was almost $400!

My name is Tracey and I have been riped off by Cingular. I was a loyal customer and I had had cell phone service with them for over two years. I started out with only one phone and when my husband and I got married, I decided it was a good idea to just add him a line on my plan and drop the pre paid service he had. Several months after that, out phones started acting strange.

When I would try to call my husband (either from my cell or from a land line), I would get someone else. It was like the lines were crossed or something. The same thing would happen when someone tried to call me. And my husband and I were having to live in seperate states at the time because of our jobs, and our cell phones were our only way of communication! Only about 10 percent of the times I tried to call him, or he tried to call me, did we actually get each other and not someone else!

Outgoing calls worked fine. It was only when someone tried to call one of our cell phones, they would usually get someone else. I reported this problem immediatly. I was told it was fixed. It was not. It happened again the next day. I reported it again. I was told again that it was fixed, and again it was not. I reported the problem about 6 times before my husband and I became very irate customers!

On the sixth time I reported it, I was told a supervisor would call me the next day. No one ever called. I was told three times that a supervisor was going to call me and no one ever did.

But here is the good part... When I got my bill, it was almost $400! My bill had been ranging from $100-$200 per month and now it was almost $400! When I looked at my bill, the reason it was so high was because I was on the phone with customer service ALL THE TIME! And I was being charged for it!

The refused to do anything about it! I told them that I would pay 10 percent of the bill, since that is about how much my phone worked, but they said that would not be sufficent. Not long ago, I got a collections letter that was a bill for almost $900! I don't know how it got that high, but somehow they doubled the charges!

Now I can't get a cell phone through anyone with out a deposit, because my credit still shows an outstanding bill with cingular. I mailed the collection agency a letter stating that I was not going to pay for something that I did not feel like I owed. So far, I haven't heard anything back from them.
