Don't buy on sale @Bestbuy - LG

My husband bought a floor model LG 4 drawers fridge on sale right after Christmas. Few months later had a problem and then some with it. LG sent service tech over to take a look and order parts and never came back. I later called the services co. And LG back and forth many times over the 2 months period and still no one shows up after appointments were set up by LG customer service. I wasted few days of work just to stay home either to wait for the service guys or LG stuffs. Eventually, LG suggested that they will replace the fridge to me free of charge when I send them the purchase receipts. LG contacted me and told me to wait for bestbuy to contact me for the new fridge. Bestbuy contacted me and left message on my home phone that I need to come to the nearby bestbuy customer service desk to arange the delivery and pick up or haul away for "free". Wow, I told everyone about the wonderful resoluton both Best buy and LG was standing by their service warantee. SO we thought.
We went to Bestbuy desk and the appliance department was happy to ask us which fridge is comparable to what we have and we pointed the same style and brand (LG) that we have. He (Tim) waited for a supervisor approval and then set up a delivery date for us. Everything was ready and all we need is the paperwork at the customer service desk and we were all done. After more than an hour of paperwork and agreements and waits. We walk out of the store and Tim told us to pay almost $1,800 for the difference. We were stunned. We said we don't want to buy a new fridge we just want to exchange like the paper works said and for free. They (tim and a supervisor) told us that they were unaware of the sales price we bought it at. Does it matter if it was on sale for a great deal or not. They said they were going to replace it. Replace it then. Now that it's not "on sale!", anymore don't make me pay the difference and especially the corporate office had called and left a message for me to go and pick up the fridge for free. What a waste of time for us to be so excited and going down to the store and coming back very disappointed and feeling cheated some how. They can only offer 2 option to me is to get my original purchase price or to get more repairs done until the units' warranty runs out which is in 1 month. Or if they will ever make it to my fridge to fix again. Now my fridge is bare crawling and if they fix it for now, it has been running and pulling power for the last several month. I doubt it that it will last any longer than short term. LG has a limit of $200 on the resolution to exchange so we were told. A big company can't even stand by their waranty to fix and cant stand by their product to replace for free after its sales. Best buy said that we bought it too good of the deal originally that they cannot do their replacement warranty. Does that mean they will only replace when we pay full price? Then people don't ever buy open box from Best Buy. You'll be screwed. If I take the refund back what can I buy that's comparable to what I have? Nothing's on sale now. I want the same fridge replace like they both promised me in the paper work in the first place.
