I contacted Home Depot several times about a 30 day late payment on my credit report. We had moved, and even though we set up mail forwarding, our mail was not reaching us. In addition, I have had serious health problems this past year, including over 20 stents put into my pancreas, plus a recent $60,000 operation to correct my stenosed pancreatic duct, the common bile duct, and a sphincter muscle. I asked Home Depot to remove the negative mark, since I was not getting my mail because of the recent move and my health. The account supervisor answered that federal law prevented him from removing it. This has badly hurt my score, and I am done with Home Depot for good. I have always paid more than the minimum on my account. Just recently I paid $1000.00, which brought the balance down to $400.00.
