Advanced Wireless Group
Fraudulent and misrepresentative cellular phone sales

I bought an AT&T phone weeks ago, to be connected at a later date (when my other cellular contract ended).
First of all, it didn't get connected until 3-4pm. I had to go to the store (30 min from my house) at around 2pm to REMIND them to connect the phone. I asked them why it hadn't been connected in the morning, and they said "oh because we don't open until 11am." I then asked "well why wasn't it connected at 11am?" and they had the nerve to tell me "oh because we're really busy." There was NO ONE in the dinky store and there were THREE sales people just standing around! I just glared at him and he nervously giggled me.

(The result, is that I had to pay for time used on my previous phone - see because I'm not using the whole month, I get prorated, and my minutes get chopped into "daily alotments." Just calling the store to find out what happened, and calling AT&T to find out what is going on costs me more than my daily alotment. Do you have any idea how much you are charged for going over? I'll give you a hint: $)

My phone was finally connected several hours later. But I then soon find out that although I paid $10-12 for one month's free, unlimited internet access - I cannot get onto the internet. I decided to contact online technical assistance for AT&T. They inform me that I've been ripped off.

See, as it turns out, I was sold a Cingular phone, not an AT&T phone. While the store did inform me of this, they told me that they "converted it" and therefore it would behave just as if it were an AT&T phone and there would be NO PROBLEMS whatsoever (yes I did specifically ask about that). When I shot them a funny look, they said "AT&T and Cingular merged months ago! Everything's alright, don't worry!" But I ask you this: if everything is alright, then why can't I use the internet service that I'm paying for?

I called the store at around 7pm, and by this time, the sales person knows my voice. I asked him what was wrong and I told him that AT&T Techical Support told me that I had beeen "ripped off." He hesitates, but tells me to come into the store tomorrow, and all will be well.
A person should NOT have to go through this much trouble to get a phone. I should not have to remind them when to connect my phone, and I deserve to have my questions answered honestly. Obviously "Advanced Wireless Group" is extremely unprofessional and unethical.
