Mitsubishi Rear Projection TV - Model WS-65513

I own an "older" (7 years) rear projection 65%u201D TV model WS-65513 that has been in and out of the shop (currently in) for the last 5 months. Late last year, the picture started showing up as waves that continued to get worse as the TV %u201Cwarmed up%u201D. This was understandable since it's expected that electronics will need to be repaired as time goes on. What we didn't expect was the response from the TV repair technician that Mitsubishi no longer makes parts for this TV (which Mitsubishi has since confirmed) and that if he couldn't repair the part of the motherboard that was causing the waves, then the TV was gone. He took the insides with him and thought he had it repaired. When he put it back together, It immediately started with the waves while he was still in the house, so he took the entire unit out so they could examine it at the shop. About a month later, he brought it back, all repaired. It took several weeks and it seemed to be repaired but, within a month, it was doing it again. The last time we spoke with him he said the part he installed was defective and he's still trying to locate another part. After 5 months without this TV, I still find it hard to believe that Mitsubishi has stopped making parts for a $2000 plus TV that%u2019s only 7 years old. I'm definitely not a happy camper where Mitsubishi is concerned. From what I've been hearing, I might have been better off selecting one of their DLP models since problems with those models seem to have been addressed in one way or another.
