I purchased a 3 year extended service plan for the wall to wall carpet that was installed. This was a GREAT plan... in concept... It allowed for 1 free carpet cleaning a year for 3 years. If I had kept my receipt (or been told it was necessary) it MIGHT have worked. I did not keep the receipt (let's get real... Keeping a receipt for 3 years just isn't going to happen.) I paid for the service, but got NOTHING except a TREMENDOUS headache! Transfer upon transfer until I was in tears. It is just cheaper to pay to have it done than to fight this battle.
Lesson to learn? Keep your receipt or better yet AVOID the extended warranties/service plans altogether. It will be simpler and faster to just pay for the repair or service should you need it.
