My computer locked up after 10 or 11 months. The first time I sent it in for repair they replaced the hard drive, power supply, and mainboard. After getting it back I started having trouble with a grinding noise in the tower and a ninety second delay after restarting the computer. They told me I needed to send it back. They replaced the mainboard again, so they say.
During this I thought I had better get the extended warranty.
After getting it back the second time I still had the grinding noise and the delay. So I called them again. They wanted me to send it in again. This time when I got it back, during the initial startup the screen went black. Monitor fried. Also still have the grinding and delay, even though they say they replaced the floppy drive this time. After calling them again it seems the extended warranty I bought was the tower only and even though my computer has either been with them or UPS for the last two months I was stuck with the monitor. And it seems that I am stuck with the tower too. They now say the delay and grinding noise is because of my norton antivirus. Funny because I had been using prior to the problem starting, and I am using norton on my other computer. It is a shame that companies get away with this.
