I've been a Dish Network customer for several years, I've recently lost my job which means I had to put my Dish service on hold for a while. I OWN my Dish receiver which includes an Over The Air tuner, and is the only OTA tuner in my home. One day I turned on my TV to watch my local news and all my local channels were missing, OTA tuner disabled. Now one would assume that you should still be able to watch FREE OTA regardless, but apparently their receivers are designed in such a way that they can disable what should be free whether SAT service is active or not. I think Dish Network should be forced to allow the OTA tuner to stay enabled especially on customer OWNED equipment whether SAT service is active or not. Not exactly fair that one should have to pay money that you can't readily afford to watch FREE TV.
