First and foremost, I am a sports fan. Over 80% of what I watch on TV is sports. Of the sports that I watch - the Los Angeles Lakers games amount to the overwhelming majority of what I watch. That is the reason I have satellite TV to watch ALL the Lakers games which Ive done for the past 10 years! If it werent for the Lakers, I could watch the few weekly shows I do watch on Local TV with an antenna! As most of you probably know the Dish Network is not currently broadcasting FOX SPORTS due to contract disputes between FOX and the Dish Network. Since FOX SPORTS amounts to over 90% of what I watch on TV and is chiefly the reason I have satellite TV, continueing to pay for the Dish Network is a waste of my money and I have therefore decided to end my relationship with Dish Network and move on to a Satellite TV service that provides the programming I watch. Since I am a rather new customer and signed an 18 month contract, the Dish Network is forcing me to pay an early termination charge of $385 - even though they no longer broadcast what I watch! All because the Dish Network has failed to negotiate, on OUR behalf, with FOX Sports! There is rumor that the Dish Network will cancel FOX altogether; that means we wont be able to watch any of the TV shows currently running on the FOX Network! To make matters even worse, the Dish Network does not provide a physical location where their customers can drop off their equipment.instead, they ONLY give the customer the option to PAY for the postage to return their equipment. How much you ask? Try $15 per receiver and since I have 3 receivers, I am forced to pay an additional $45 plus the early termination fee (a total of $430 to FIRE DISH!) This is flat out WRONG! The Dish Network if forcing me to pay for programming that I dont watch! Sure I can cancel as long as I pay them UP FRONT for the next 18 months of service that I wont have. If anybody reading this has had a similar problem, we ALL need to come together here and make sure as many people as possible know about this travesty. We are being stolen from here! And currently there doesn't seem to be much we can do about it. Pass this information on to everyone you know. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH DISH NETWORK! They are CROOKS, plain and simple!
