Just when I thought Rogers had the worst customer service, in comes dell

So I bought my laptop a while ago and they tried to deliver it when I was on the road. I called Dell and told them that I am on the road and I don't want the laptop to get sent back to them. They told me that Purolator will only keep the laptop for 5 days. I told them that will get sent back to them before I get back home and I would like for someone else to go and pick up the laptop. They said that is fine I just need to give them the name and address of the person coming to pick up the laptop and they will allow Purolator to release the laptop to them. So I was thinking great and I gave the my mothers information. So far it sounds like Dell did a good job, it seems that they are helping me out. This is only half the story.

After I gave them my mother's information, they turned around and said no we are not going to release the laptop to her because the laptop is financed and it would require them to change the address on the account. I told them, I don't want you to change the address on the account I just need to have my mother pick up the laptop so it doesn't get sent back. The person on the phone said NO we will not release the laptop. So I quickly told them that if the laptop gets sent back they can keep it and I will find another laptop elsewhere with a company that wants to do business with and not give me a hard time. So the person told me that they will send a request to have purolator hold the laptop but will not guarantee anything because its up to Purolator. So I called Purolator and spoke to them about holding and they said that they did get a request and will hold the laptop until I get back home.

A week later, I started to get telemarketing calls from Dell asking me to buy more stuff and how my experience was with Dell. I told them I have had a bad experience with Dell and I will never buy another product with them. The rep said that we can see what we can do to help. I advised him that its a little late because when I needed the help no one would take the extra step when I called them with a problem. I told them I already have the laptop and there is not much they can do. So I get transferred to a manager that started to tell me that she wants to make me a happy customer. I told her I would have been happy if you didn't put me through the hassle I went through at the beginning. So she offered me $50 off my next purchase with Dell. So I told her I wont buy anything from Dell ever again. So I get a $50 credit on the account (the laptop was $1200). So I attempted to let the matter slide but Dell insisted on continuing to call to see if I was happy and I gave them the same answer.

So I wanted to make my first payment on the account and I called to try and find out the stuff for online banking. Apparently, Dell does not have the ablility to accept online banking payments. Dell is a very large company and they can't accept online banking payments??? So naturally I got a little upset becuase I have to call every month. I managed to work it out so that I would email someone and they would withdrawn the money from my account on the date that I specify... I thought that was ok. So I agreed. Then they kept calling to make sure I am happy and I kept going through the situation again and they are not helping me they are just telling me how wonderful Dell is. Anyways someone called me and left me a voice mail so I called her back. She told me to call and ask for her. From that point, I got hung up on twice becuase people didnt want to open my account after I told them my information. When I finally got someone to listen, I told them I never want them calling me or soliciting anything to me. I was finished with them

Dealing with this company was the worst experience I have ever had. I thought customer service was bad with Rogers. My expectations are a lot lower with Dell. They make good computers but I would recommend buying your computer from elsewhere
