I bought a room A/C used that has a 5 yr warranty. The frame is rotted and LG will not warranty it. They say that the unit is in a salt air environment and that the air is corrosive. I live in FL. Nowhere in the manual does it say that installing the unit in a house on or near open water will cause the unit to self-distruct. I am shocked that they will not support this. I could have bought a cheaper unit but thought LG was a good company. This A/C still runs. It is the frame that is bad and causing the fan to scrape the inside wall of the unit.
