I bought what was sold to me has a 51 inch Plasma tv. When seeking a warranty replacement when unit fell. I was told that dells largest unit was 50 inches. Though the unit only performed properly for 7 months before the video fell (no picture) I was informed that my replacement would be a refurbished unit and that the time remaining on my 1 year warranty was the only warranty I would get unless I purchased an extended warranty at $395 dollars for one year. While Dell sells a three year warranty for $495 at the point of purchase.
Now I was told that dells refurbished units are as good as new despite my protest when being told that this was what my replacement would be. If it's has good as new then why not make the same warranty available to me now. Because I believed in Dell quality I felt the unit would out last any warranty I could purchase short of a lifetime. Foolish me it didn't last a good year. Buyer Beware!!!
