Dell
Misrepresentation, inconsistent statements with no accountability, Lies and deceit

I had purchased my 3rd Dell, a laptop, and paid extra for extended complete care warranty. Eventually after several phone calls and a long delays over 2 years, Dell finally agreed as the last straw, and because of my insistence that the computer needed to be replace. I was led to believe that I would receive a new unit, but received a refurbished unit. Tired of fighting with this company, I agreed to keep the unit, and called to get the warranty information (there was nothing in the packaging) and also to purchase an extended warranty like I had on my original unit. I also requested to extend my warranty online via their website link, to which I rec'd an automated response about my desire to extend my warranty. I then called in and was told that I could not purchase any warranty on this unit, as it was a replacement unit, but that the present coverage would be extended for 1 year, so I would be covered for 1 year at the "Complete Coverage". I am sure that this unit was denied because it was refurbished, but I had not realized it at this point, and I had to resign my fact that the warranty would only be for a year, and if there were any defects with the unit, they would be repaired/replaced. There are lots of little things wrong with this unit, and when I checked my dell account online, it did not show any warranty at all. I spent 1 hr 22 minutes on the phone, to be transferred 3 times, finally to someone's manager's voice mail... I tried to write it down, something like this... Hello, this is Naragesh Calafdaranarbara, please leave a message. I left a message but was interrupted by a recording, please make an entry or this call will be disconnected... I started crying, this is so unbelievable that they continue to get away with this, and continue to allow people to answer the phone and attempt to help English speaking Americans, when they can barely speak it or understand it themselves. I feel sorry for the person on the other end of the line, for both of us. It is Dell who is at fault, expecting their employee and customer to make do with their lack of concern for proper communication, and customer service. Please people, quit buying Dell until they begin to understand, and address this horrible practice.
