I purchased an extended warranty after purchasing a $600 computer back in Jan. 2011. The warranty was never activated although they charged my credit card for the product. After several calls regarding activation on 2/20th, 3/25,6/17,7/28 and 8/18 and being told "it would take 3-4 week for activation just keep checking back", it was never activated, without reason. On Aug. 18th I requested a refund for the purchase price of a product I never received and they said they processed the refund of my money on Aug. 18th, but it never showed up in my account within the 3-5 business days I was told it would take. I called back to check the status of the refund on 8/22,8/26,8/29 and 9/1. Each time Toshiba passed the buck placing blame on the processing time of my credit card used to purchase the product/service I never received and told me that Paypal needed to research the refund, which they found was never issued. As of today Sept. 1st, I still do not have a refund in my account although I have spoken with customer service and management who all state that the refund was processed on Toshiba side (same excuse I got about the warranty being issued). Paypay finally called Toshiba (against their normal protocal) on 9/1 to dispute the claims by Toshiba of a processed refund sent to my account. Then all of a sudden, Toshiba admitted that the funds were credited but to somewhere else which they have no idea where, however, not to the account which they originally verified the previous times I called inquiring. Now, I am awaiting a response once again from Toshbia for my refund. This is totally unacceptable for a multi-billion dollar company or a small business. This has been a 9 month process and as a corporation and top competetor you should be ashamed of your lack of effiecient customer relations processes. Your playing with people's livilhood when you take money for products or services you have not intentions on delivering on. How would you feel if this were done to you as a consumer? Paying for a product or service, never receving it with no valid excuse, then going through the same exact thing when you want your money back, with effiecient communication. I researched your rating on this subject and it seem to be a norm for Toshiba. As an advisor to many Fortune 500 companies that are on the NASDQ and S&P you could be headed for the courtroom if you don't change up and become more effective, efficient and thorough in your consumer processes when delivering products and services.
