I did a little research before buying. Like a lot of other products, there were good reports as well as bad, but I needed an alternative to the high price per use of my home phone service, and decided to take a gamble.
It was delivered quick. It was easy to set up. I called out and had someone call me back. Wow, this is great I thought. Wrong!
First, it was annoying that I had to wait for this device to 'activate' itself whenever I turned the computer on, and having gotten use to the amount of time the PC took already, it soon became where I unplugged it from the USB port till I was going to use it. Not an extreme bad thing, right?
Now the dirty parts... The messages were totally unusable, worse than a walkie-talkie from the World War 1 era, if there was such a thing. Then I found I couldn't access messages for my cell phone, even tho I got thru to my voicemail system, it wouldn't recognize my number either way they recommended. Having no cell signal at home was a major factor in getting this device as well, as my home phone doing the same thing was a long distance charge. Sounds a little confusing, I know, but the bottom line is:
Buyer Beware of this device!!! If you are going to leave your computer on, and make calls or answer calls live only, it seems like a marvelous invention, tho I'm not really sure now, as I've totally unplugged it and noone calls me on that number cause why the heck would I give out this number and have to rely on a message that was just a mess?
In trying to save money, it ended up costing me a little, with a healthy dose of aggravation of not getting anything out of it that I needed, thrown in. Rip!
