Bottom Line: I’m very happy with my Magic Jack. I was very concerned when I read the negative reviews about Magic Jack.in fact, I wasn't going to buy it based on the negative reviews. However, I finally got rid of my Cox cable digital land line because I hardly ever used it. We use our cell phones more than a land line. Seeing how the magic jack wasn’t going to be my primary phone I decided to try it out. I thought, “Worst case is I’m out $40 and I’ll write a bad review.”
Well, I’ve been using my Magic Jack for three weeks now and the thing is working perfect. I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of phone calls I make with my Magic Jack. I called my family and they said it sounded better than my old land line and better than my cell phone. I am very very pleased with this device. My only complaint, and It’s pretty minor, is you have to dial your area code to make a local phone call. Big deal, I can live with that minor inconvenience for $20 a year.
I don’t understand the negative complaints. I suspect some people have unreasonable expectations or they’re not computer savvy. I knew going into this deal that I would need to leave my computer on. Come on people, this thing doesn’t run on fairy dust. Of course your computer needs to stay on.
I haven’t been charged for the Magic Jack yet. I’ll let you know how the billing goes. If all goes as expected, I will give the Magic Jack very high marks. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
