I bought a Samsung 26cf, french door refrigerator in July. It cost about $2,000. DO NOT buy this product because the icemaker is a piece of garbage. My icemaker died within 18 months. This is planned obsolescence, even though Samsung may deny it. If you live in a warm climate like I do, you want an icemaker that works. My other icemaker worked for 18 YEARS.

My retailer, Lowe's, was extremely nice and worked with Samsung to extend my paltry year-long warranty, and they agreed to replace ONLY the part. This process took about a month, after numerous phone calls and much time on hold. However, Samsung denied my claim to pay for labor, which was a whopping $169. Who out there feels that an 18-month-icemaker made of cheap, flimsy plastic is worth that much? If I had to pay for the whole thing, which, luckily, I didn't, it would have been at least $369 or more (the icemaker runs about $200). For a flimsy piece of plastic.

I have learned my lesson. I will never buy another Samsung appliance. My friends and family won't either.
