Last year I bought 30 rolls of sod at Home Depot. It looked wonderful for the first three weeks, and then yellow spots started to show up throughout my yard. I looked into it on my own, and the Home Depot staff then confirmed the cause was a fungus. I purchased fungicide there and used it according to the directions, but the lawn only got worse. They told me to pull up the sod and return it, which by then was impossible.
This spring I tore out all 30 rolls, fertilized, and sowed seed. Now there are areas where nothing will grow no matter what I try. I applied fungicide again, and the fungus has returned anyway. My yard is a disastrous, ugly mix of bare ground and yellow patches. Thanks a lot, Home Depot.
