Signed up via Qwest (oh so handy to have it all bundled, right? Wrong.) Never a word from Qwest, Directv, or the installer about the two-year contract or a $460.00 cancellation fee.
Luckily, when the installer (after everything was already installed) got done and handed me a piece of paper saying it was just to verify he had installed everything, my spouse noticed the fine print.
I canceled the service the next morning (thank goodness I moved right away — you only have 24 hours to cancel). The woman there assured me that everything was fine, of course I could cancel, and there would be NO CHARGES.
Right.
The bill came for the first month's charges and the cancellation fee of $460.00. Qwest had already paid the first month, so now I owed Qwest that money. After 45 minutes of trying not to swear, I finally got the cancellation fee backed off — but they've had over $100 that I had to pay to Qwest (and which Qwest now says I have to deal with Directv to get back — it has nothing to do with them).
Six recorded calls and two months later, Directv still hasn't refunded my money. Every time I call they tell me I'll have it in 5-7 business days, or by Monday, and now "in a couple of days".
This company is a complete and utter rip-off artist's studio. Do NOT deal with them under any circumstances.
