On Saturday, June 6th I lost my phone. I was in a rush to go out of town and didn't know where. I called to suspend the service and was informed that I was paying $5.99 a month for insurance on the phone and I could call and file a claim to get a new phone.
On Monday I did just that. Come to find out they charged me a $50.00 service charge to send me a new phone. No other information was given as to what I should do if my phone was recovered. I got the phone and it was awful. It looked new but the battery wouldn't hold a charge. The touch screen was screwy and wouldn't register my touch. It was a pain in the rear.
Finally on June 20th, I got a call from a Verizon retailer 3 cities away saying someone had tried to program my phone and they had confiscated it. I wasn't able to go for it until last Thursday. I called Asurion to let them know I had my old phone in hand and see how I could get a refund of my $50.00 AND send them back their phone.
The representative was very mean and told me that I had a 7 day window to recover the phone and get my money back. She couldn't do anything about my money but I "must" return the phone.
This is ridiculous I basically paid $50.00 to rent an awful used phone for 20 days.
