If you are thinking about getting a Verizon wireless device (aircard), DO NOT waste your time and money!!! The device barely worked, and I live in the middle of the Fort Lauderdale/Miami metro area (where there is plenty of cell phone coverage). The customer service is terrible. I spend several hours each month trying to fix this, and I am getting nowhere.
Here is what happened so far:
In May of I was told that due to a known trouble area that I lived in, the wireless device I had service through Verizon was not going to function properly. I was told in May that I could cancel the service at any time and not be charged any early termination fee. I needed the wireless device for business trips and decided to keep it for the time being.
In December of I started experiencing several mechanical issues with the device and was also being charged extra for usage fees due to my device not working properly. I called in January to cancel the wireless device. I was told when I called that I would not be charged an early termination fee, and the usage fees would be taken off my account since they were due to the device not functioning properly.
In February I received my bill and there was a early termination fee included. I called and was issued a credit for the early termination fee, I was told the exact amount to pay for my bill that month. I paid that EXACT amount.in March my bill had an early termination fee, a late fee (for not paying the early termination fee), and some usage charges from the January bill.
When I called the customer service person I spoke with argued with me that I owed for the early termination fee. I asked to speak with a manager, after the manager raised her voice with me she said that credits for early termination fees were not guaranteed and I had to pay the total amount due.
You know the saying, the customer is always right? Not with this company!
