I worked for NEW for about 4 months. I had to go to a 6 week training class. When I first started training I knew that this would be a job that I liked. I was happy that I would be working from home and helping people with their satelitte equipment problems. I did like the job, but the mangement at NEW are rude and abusive.
In my weekly coachings I was wrote up for doing things that I was taught to do in training. My supervisor would listen to one of my calls and question me on why I did a certain. When I tried to tell that I was trained to do it that way she would cut me off and pretty much call me a liar.
I had these coaching every sunday and always in tears before it was all over with.
We had chat rooms where we could ask questions and everytime I answered a question my supervisor when tell the person that I gave the correct answer too, to call and program specialist. Which made me look like a total idot.
I got wrote up for setting up a service call for a customer that had already been through all the troubleshooting steps with another NEW rep. Which I was told in training that I could do. When my supervisor reviewed the call she started yelling at me and told me that we could not trust the notes of other NEW reps. Customers have to go through all troubleshooting again that it did not matter what the notes said.
The next day a customer called in and wanted a service call set because she said the tech that was at her house told her that he would come back the next day and bury the cabled in her yard. There was no mention of any of this in the notes. So I asked my supervisor if I could set up an incomplete install to where there would be no charge. She then told me that if it is not in the notes then it is a chargeable service call. "We have to trust the notes".
There where 18 people in my training class. Only 2 of those people still work at NEW.
