Faulty merchandise, no refund

Our 9-year-old boy saved-up his cash and purchased a restored Ipod from RefurbDepot.com. After about 6 months the Ipod started breakdown along with a week later quit functioning entirely. I approached RefurbDepot by mail and described the issue. They explained I had a need to a contact organization named "Encore" for warranty problems. This amazed me as there is no reference to Encore whilst the producer or company of the Ipod on ReburbDepotis site. I tried calling Encore numerous occasions, every time waiting on-hold for more than 20 minutes. I sent ReburbDepot again and informed them about my failure to achieve Encore, the e-mail consultant subsequently educated me that my boyis Ipod was from guarantee. I purchased the ipod on 10/25/08 also it came via UPS on 11/4/08. Our preliminary mail to RefurdbDepot was on 2/2/09. Though we did not get the ipod until 11/4, it started to breakdown in late November and ceased functioning entirely in early January no reimbursement with no present to assist repair the problem was forthcoming from RefurbDepot.
