Beware bonus claims

I signed up for DirecTV in early Sept to take advantage of their 7500 miles for American Airlines.
I did everything according to the letter of their rules. I waited 6 weeks after signing up to enquire on status of miles. They said I didn't sign up properly so would not be getting any. I sent proof that I did everything correctly and asked to speak to a supervisor. Eventually I did get to one who verified my accuracy and apologized. She said I would be getting the miles by end November. Mid Dec I contacted them again. They said they would check on it and get right back to me. They didn't. I contacted them again Dec 30, same BS, except now they say they have no control on giving the miles, its up to AA. Essentially they disavow all responsibility for their own program. I believe this program is a scam to get people to sign up. And now I'm stuck with a 2 year contract, which I asked to be released from based on their violation of the contract by not providing the miles. They said no, that there would be penalties. What are crappy company. Really bad customer service and fraudulant practices to trick customers into signing up.
