Signed up for The Miles Card from Discover. They had a promotional offer for bonus miles for signing up. It was taking a while for my bonus miles to post so I inquired when I would see them in my account. They said within two billing cycles. After the specified amount of time, I inquired further.
They began an investigation to determine how many miles I was eligible for from the promotion (had to look up my application). After several weeks I inquired again about my missing bonus miles. With the poor customer service I received, I told them I was ready to close my account if I did not get the bonus miles posted in said timeframe. I gave them atleast an additional three weeks and repeatedly told them of my ultimatum. Finally, I closed my account.
By this point I had accumated several thousand miles. Without warning, they zero'd out my miles. Those miles could have been used for several catalog items, such as a $50-$100 gift certificate to a restaurant. I had no opportunity to use the miles I earned.
