I have a Mitsubishi 65 inch DLP television that broke earlier this month. I called G S Electronics in Tampa to come fix it. First of all they charge $60 just to come out to look at it which is kind of steep, even though I live right down the street.
He said it needed a new lamp, and a new "sensor". The charge will be $390. I thought it was steep but I didn't know what was wrong with it. It could have been something more serious. He did not have the part and would have to come back 2 days later.
2 days later he came back with the new lamp. I later found out that this light only costs $129 or less on Ebay. He did not even have the proper tools, he asked if I had any latex gloves (as if I would have something like that in my house.) He used my paper towels instead.
He took 10 minutes to change the light and the TV was fine. Then he charged me over $400 for this service. 400 dollars to change a light bulb? Does that sound reasonable to you?
Anyway I'm taking action here. DO NOT USE G S ELECTRONIC REPAIR IN TAMPA! If they charge over $400 just to change a light bulb they will rip anyone off for anything! Beware!!
