Aftermarket Cellular Accesorries - The United States Postal Service Package lost between California and Washington DC: Poor Accountability

This is as of today (17 December) a situation in progress and, as yet and until resolution, NO rip-off is being claimed.

This IS a status report and alert to consumers to be generally on the look-out for this sort of matter, which has thus far resulted for me in a Christmas present not having been received by the intended recipient and a concomitant financial loss to me.

IF, at such a time as this matter is resolved to my satisfaction, I will follow up with those details, too.

The details of my report are as follows:

On or about 08 December, I ordered via the website of Aftermarket Cellular Accessories, of Huntington Beach, CA, a Jabra SP700 Bluetooth FM Speakerphone, Invoice #497210, Aftermarket PO# AMC11912, Product Code Jabra SP700.

I paid for the item via PayPal and received email confirmation from PayPal that funds had been taken out of my account for the purpose, along with confirmation of the recipient's name and address.

I received email confirmations also from Aftermarket Cellular Accessories with a USPS tracking number.

Email confirmations as follows:

Electronic Shipping Info received Huntington, CA, 92647:08 December,1:04PM

Processed Anaheim, CA, 08 December,6:07PM

Arrival at USPS Unit Washington, DC 20037,10 December,4:52AM

Delivered (to the 24th Street NW, address specified by me in my original order) Washington, DC 20037,10 December,7:37AM

Status: DELIVERED

*
The package was shipped via USPS First Class mail.

After the intended recipient checked every day for what is now one week, the package has never materialized at the address indicated in the original online order.

I went by the USPS 20037 delivery unit and spoke to both a delivery person as well as the unit's supervisor, who very courteously looked into the mater and then referred me further to the delivery person of that unit for the address in question, Todd Dickens, whom I called this morning to try and ascertain further details of the whereabouts of the missing package. Mr. Dickens indicated to me that as far as he is concerned, the package had been delivered to the intended address.

Yet another check with the superintendant of the mail room of the 24th Street, NW, building, and no package anywhere to be seen.

Just now, I called Aftermarket Cellular Accessories and talked to a "Joel" and asked for further details, if any, regarding this missing item. Joel immediately suggested that I file a polce report against the USPS and/or the 24th Street, NW, mailroom for theft, then muttered something about sending me further info, but oddly never asked me for my email address. I then offered the invoice number and stated that I would be seeking a chargeback, as I have not received this item, and I'm not sure that Joel was prepared to do any sort of meaningful customer service or follow-up in aid of my query and insisted instead that my only option would be to file the police report against the USPS and/or the 24th Street NW, mail room.

As of this writing, no one is willing to take responsibility for this missing item and I am left having spent over eighty-dollars for an item that has never been received. Tomorrow, I will take this report to the USPS for further follow-up on their part, to the 24th Street, NW, mailroom supervisor and indicate that I will be filing a polcie report against them as recommended by Aftermarket Cellular Accessories.

Further information to follow insofar as I have anything to report.

But at this point, I am out of pocket without the item ordered having been received, and no one seems to be able to make good on the matter. To say that I am disgusted is an understatement.
