We've discovered a little text messaging issue recently. T-Mobile offers you 50 free text messages a month with your service plan. The way they count these messages is this:
1) If you receive a message it counts.
2) If you send a message it counts.
3) If your outgoing message never makes it through the system (i.E. Lost in space).
4) If your incoming message never makes it to you (i.E. Lost in space).
They stack the system against you by:
1) Charging you for messages you receive EVEN IF YOU DON'T WANT to receive the message.
2) They send you a message every time you get a voicemail.
It's a miracle that spammers haven't started hitting our cell phones with messages (which will only make TMobile richer).
If you go over your max text messages you are charged 5 cents for EVERY incoming and outgoing message.
I can understanding charging for me sending messages. But incoming is ridiculous. They stand upon the logic that its just like a cell phone call. But i can refuse to answer a cell phone call. Text messages are forced upon me.
I use Text Messaging a lot. I even bought their ONLY Text Message service plan (500 max for $3 a month) and it still wasn't enough... I am paying $30-$50 a month extra for text messages! I've asked for additional 500 message usage blocks, but they don't allow stacking of the service plans.
On the bill they don't show you the usage of text messages until you go over. That's when you start to realize that they are charging you for everything even messages which fail to deliver.
This could easily become a class action suit. I think hundreds of thousands of TMobile customers are getting ripped off.
Thanks for your time.
