According to the website at att, Families can add 30$ charge to their bill to have unlimited texting to anyone who has a US phone. However, they fail to mention that if that phone leaves the US and you text it you will be charged for that.
However at other locations to their site, they mislead you to believe that this 30$ charge will cover any and all texting including those people who leave the US should you not leave the US yourself. However, in just another section they claim that you will be charge an inordinate amount for it. A different page, a different cost.
This has got to stop, now while I am not a certified (on Bar) lawyer, I do know a few things about fraud. The direct intent to mislead a consumer in order to create a financial gain for one self is directly illegal in the US and is easily fought an won for. With such a precedent set, ATT better make sure to clear up this mistake and take off the charges on my phone should they appear at the end of this month. If they aren't, I will be looking to make a class action lawsuit and would like legal help to properly do this.
