I work for Circuit City and let me tell you ESP (extended warranty service plan) is a total rip-off. Circuit City makes a 100% profit off of this plan. They tell you that if you have to bring an item back three times in order to be repaired, on the fourth time you get an brand new item to replace the old one.
Well by that time your ESP (extended warranty service plan) could be up and you are stuck with it. Plus if a sales person is able to sale you ESP they get more money, say they sale a $1200 tv without ESP they could make $10 to $20 and if they sale it with ESP they could make $70 to $90 depending on how many years the customer buys. So they will tell you any thing to sell the ESP but who could blame them.
Here is a word of advice when it comes to electronics if they don't brake within 3 days after you have plugged it in it will not brake and see most electronics come with a limited warranty from the maker so you are covered. If you buy ESP on any thing buy it on car speakers or home speakers beacause they can't fix those so they give you a new pair each time they bust.
