My husband and I referred my parents to Dish Network over 6 months ago. We JUST got our first $5 off November's bill ($5 off for 10 months). After we referred them and they used one of those stupid certificates Dish sends you, we kept getting regular bills with no credits for the Referral. Each time we have called about this, we were told to give it another billing cycle to take effect and that it was taken care of.
At one point they told us no certificate was used but I KNOW one was because I had to order it for my parents, they are not computer literate. I may have thrown the certificate away so I didn't try giving it to anyone else since it was used. Why would I keep the certificate after I used it?
It has been 7 or more billing cycles and we JUST received our first $5 credit. We were even told at one point that someone else received the credit, and we did not even recognize the name of that person (neither did my parents).
This was the first time we had referred someone to Dish Network, and will definetely be our last.
Not to mention the monthly charges they try to put on your credit card when you first sign up that are supposedly for equipment failure due to weather - I have homeowner's insurance that covers my electronics! I'm not paying $5.99 a month for that. Check your bill, it will be under DHPP (stands for Dish Home Protection Plan, maybe?)
