False advertising, lying, refusing refunds

In late March ordered Direct Tv through Qwest Bundle pkg. I called Direct Tv to confirm and ask questions regarding Dish and installation date. I explained to them I wanted to get the HD sattelite dish, but it would be about 1 month to finish getting the $ together for the TV and I could only get the 4 receivers for now. We are seniors and we have to budget our money. They said no problem, I would still qualify for the $100 rebate, (for the HD sattelite dish) - she even checked with her supervisor on it. - they work with their new customers. I could get it later. They installed it on 4-03-07.

I called again an ordered the 1 HD sattelite dish for our new TV, paid approx $125.00 for it with credit card, and was informed that I would qualify for the $100.00 rebate offer since I was still considered a new customer. I was told the website to go to-print the rebate offer and send it in. (Of which I did).

I received A confirmation e-mail that it would take 6 - 8 weeks to process on Sat. Jun 23. I received a postcard on 7-9-07 that said I did not qualify for the rebate since I did not join with the requested new customer offer.

I called Direct TV on 7-10-07 and was told by Stan # 3033 that It was the wrong ID receiver number. (No refund). He told me to call customer relations. & I Called customer relations and talked to Sharmella (I think that was her name) and she told me that the ID # has nothing to do with it. I had to order HD the very day I ordered the DirectTV. I first was guarranteesd the $100 rebate offer when I ordered it, I then was told it was wrong receiver # and then I was told Receiver # had nothing to do with it, I was not a new customer. (no refund).

This is out and out fraud, lying and deceiving the public. The $100 may not be a lot to some people, but after the guarrantee I got on the phone when I ordered it - It is a LOT OF MONEY TO US. I have had three (3) different stories told to me in order for Direct Tv not to pay the $100. I just want my $100 back and someone to go after this company for all the fraud, deceitfullness and general lying to the public. I thank you for reading this. Apache Jct. Az.
